Local Dance Advertising

Setup

  • Confirm with contact.
  • Select 3 – 5 products to share.  Variety within each month and from month to month; select items that are close to or have recently expiring (but which are part of product lines that we are continuing to stock); and reasonably convenient to serve.  If doing more than one monthly dance (ex. Next Gen and SwingOut!), then serve the same set of snacks at both.  For backup, include 1 – 3 units of a different flavor of one of the featured products.
  • Create and print stickers for the serving dishes using the Nutriate account at avery.com and printing to the Site 1 Epson printer on removable stickers.
  • Ensure that all of the appropriate serving dishes, knives, and cutting board are clean and packed.
  • Create a tally with the heading Dance_name Dance_date and three columns: product to be sampled, quantity taken, and quantity used; fill out the first two columns.
  • In packing create, pack [Nutriate banner, tape,] scissors, business cards and postcards with NextGen 1% and Nutriate blurbs, knife and cutting board, serving dishes, stickers, appropriate paper cups, table cards, sample products, and took/used tally.

On-site

  • As needed, cut a product into bit-sized pieces and place on a serving plate.  Place products like chips into a serving bowl.  Pour small snacks such as trail mix into small paper cups.  Save empty product wrappers as well as unused product in Nutriate packing crate.
  • Wash knife and cutting board between GF and peanut free items and those containing peanuts and/or gluten.
  • Place an empty wrapper for each product behind its serving dish.
  • Refill serving dishes / cups as needed.
  • Give leftovers (especially opened wrappers) to dance host.

Post-dance

  • Tally amount used.
  • Clear out empty wrappers.
  • Clean serving dishes, cutting board, and knives.
  • Update this post.
  • Restock for next dance, as is appropriate.
  • Create Nutriate $0 advertising invoice in Xero.  Use wholesale, add CRV and CRV taxes, and zero out with Nutriate Advertising Adjustment.

Next Gen

1st Saturday of the month at the Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville.  Coordinate with Ken Saltzstine (see Capsule).  Dance is 6pm – 12am but Ken doesn’t set out food until 7pm in the sitting area between the Junior and Main Ballrooms.  Nutriate gets the high table in the back right of the sitting room.  Best to pack up around 11pm.

Swing Out!

2nd Friday of the month at the Lake Merritt Dance Center in Oakland.  Coordinate with Shin Aoki (see Capsule).  Lesson 7:30 – 8:30pm, doors open 7pm, food setup at back table by 7:15pm.  Pack up after end at 11pm.
