  • Select ‘Company, Organization or Institution’
  • Under ‘Category’ select ‘Retail and Consumer Merchandise’
  • Under ‘Company Name’ enter “Nutriate”  (Be thoughtful about the name since it’s very hard to change once you have over 100 fans/likes.)
  • Click ‘Get Started’ button (which accepts terms)

In the next window, enter the company description, www.nutriate.com, and the Facebook name (such as “Nutriate” or “NutriateCorp”).  The resulting URL will be of the form http://www.facebook.com/NutriateCorp.

After ‘Save Info’, skip the liking and posting for now.

Unpublish: click ‘Edit Page’, ‘Edit Settings’, ‘Unpublished’.

Further Setup

Click ‘Edit Page’, ‘Update Info’.

Load a profile photo: at least 180 pixels wide, basically square: click the ‘Upload From Computer’ link – or the ‘Import From Website’ link; click the ‘Open’ button.  (MarketingProfs recommends loading the logo into the small image holder.)

Mouse over profile picture and click the ‘Edit Profile Picture’ link.  From the drop-down menu, click the ‘Edit Thumbnail’ button.  In the pop-up window, drag or scale the image.  Click ‘Save’.

Adding Admins: click ‘Edit Page’, ‘Manage Admin Roles’, enter email or name, select level of admin access, ‘Save’ and enter password.  If you add another Admin, make sure that person likes your page AND their likes (at least for that page) are PUBLIC.  (Add other trusted Facebook users as admins.)

Enable tagging and sharing: click ‘Edit Page’, ‘Manage Permissions’, select all of the ‘Posting Ability’ and ‘Tagging Ability’ options, ‘Save Changes’.  ‘Allow Replies to Comments’ on the ‘My Page’ option, ‘Save Changes’.

Reveal tabs are built into many apps to restrict certain content to fans.
