Chili Peppers

Chili peppers are high in Vitamin C (per NutritionData, one raw, green hot chili pepper has 182% of the USDA recommend amount).  Raw green hot chili peppers are mildly anti-inflammatory and red are strongly anti-inflammatory.  Canned hot chili peppers are also nutritionally beneficial but raw is better.

Shishito Pepper is a thin-skinned Japanese pepper with a smoky-savory flavor (per the Alameda Natural Grocery newsletter of 2012 August 30).  Most of the peppers are mild but around 10% are hot.
