The basic Unsalted flavor of Beanfield’s Bean & Rice Chips makes a great, painless substitute for corn-based tortilla chips and a reasonably healthy snack food when the crunchy munchies hit. These baked chips are made of organic, GMO-free beans and rice with a little oil. Probably due to the rice, the texture of these chips is much more pleasant than other brands of bean chips which have a mealy after-feel. Their major nutritional benefit is fiber. If you’re not tightly restricting your sodium intake and if you want a more assertive flavor, then try the Sea Salt or (new in 2014) Barbecue flavors; the (new in 2014) Ranch flavor is a little sweet (interesting the seasoning includes stevia) and the Pico de Gallo flavor is a little muddy compared to the recommended flavors. Though a 5.5 ounce bag contains 6 servings, it’s easy to eat half or even a whole bag without thinking.
