Thermochromic Dye

Coors, Mountain Dew, and Hiball (energy drink manufacturer based in San Francisco) are using thermochromic dyes on their can labels.  The dye changes color when the can temperature drops below 45 degrees F.  The Coors and Hiball dye goes from clear to blue, and the Mountain Dew dye goes from yellow to green.  The dye is used for product differentiation.
